Katy ISD board to add almost 60 new staff jobs
The explosive growth in the Katy Independent School District is resulting in the regular addition of new campuses and new positions that must be filled.
Katy ISD Board of Trustees are expected to approve adding 56 additional staff positions across more than a dozen departments for the 2019-2020 school year. The brand new jobs range from an inventory technician in the Transportation Department to Assistant Emergency Management Coordinator at the Katy ISD Police Department. Last year, the Katy ISD board approved 34 new positions, district officials said.
“Our growth projection was more aggressive this year for staffing and budgeting purposes,” said Brian Schuss, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources.
