Yankton man arrested following high-speed chase
A 42-year-old Yankton man was taken into custody and faces numerous charges following a high-speed chase late Friday in Stanton County.
Dustin Alstadt was taken into custody after he refused to stop and was also found to have a suspended license, said Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger.
On Friday about 11 p.m. the sheriff’s office had a brief pursuit with Alstadt’s eastbound Ford Taurus on Highway 275 and then on 568th Avenue northeast of Stanton, the sheriff said.
After he was taken into custody, Alstadt was jailed, pending the posting of bond on charges of driving during suspension and operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and a McCook County, S.D., felony warrant.
His initial court appearance is scheduled for next month.
