Delaware treasurer-elect caught driving on suspended license
GEORGETOWN, Del. (AP) — Court records show Delaware’s treasurer-elect handed over a suspended license during a traffic stop last week.
The News Journal reports 38-year-old Colleen Davis was pulled over Nov. 13 after a state trooper clocked her going above the speed limit.
Davis says her license was suspended for an unpaid speeding ticket and she missed a court date set before the election. She says she didn’t drive herself to campaign events once her license was suspended, but a Nov. 5 photo on U.S. Sen. Tom Carper’s Facebook page shows her standing in front of her car and references her driving.
Court records show Davis has had her license suspended at least four times. She ended her interview with the newspaper when asked about prior incidents.
Davis’ court hearing is scheduled for Dec. 4.
