Fremantle extends unbeaten run in Australian Football League
MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) — Fremantle captain Matthew Pavlich kicked five goals as the Dockers held off the fast-finishing Western Bulldogs to win 15.11 (101) to 14.4 (88) on Sunday and remain the only undefeated team after seven rounds in the Australian Football League.
Fremantle has a two-game lead over Sydney, Adelaide, Great Western Sydney and West Coast, all with 5-2 records.
Luke Parker kicked five goals and Lance Franklin added four as Sydney beat Geelong 18.12 (120) to 11.11 (77) and West Coast defeated the Gold Coast 21.9 (135) to 6.7 (43).
Eddie Betts kicked six goals as Adelaide beat St. Kilda 18.11 (119) to 10.13 (73). Greater Western Sydney defeated Carlton 19.21 (135) to 9.3 (57).
Defending premier Hawthorn thrashed Melbourne 24.11 (155) to 7.8 (50) to move to a 4-3 record.
