Stop the Bleed at North Star
Jadyn Raley, an eighth-grader at North Star Middle School, applies pressure to a makeshift wounded arm at a Stop The Bleed event on Monday. Classmate Jonathan Scott looks on. The initiative was undertaken to prepare students for potential emergency situations, including a mass shooter. Stop the Bleed is a national awareness campaign intended to cultivate grassroots efforts that encourage bystanders to become trained, equipped and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives, according to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
