Four jailed on drug charges during robbery investigation

HUNTINGTON – Four men were arrested Thursday in the Highlawn neighborhood of Huntington as part of an ongoing robbery investigation being conducted by Huntington police.

Elijah Jorim Murphy, 20, Kani Quanzelleu Burnside, 19, Eugene Davis Ware, 18, and Aunthony Harris Jr. 21, were charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. Bond for Burnside and Murphy was set at $100,000. Harris’ was set at $125,000. All bonds are cash-only bonds.

Ware’s bond had not been set as of Friday morning.

According to Huntington Police Chief Hank Dial, the four were arrested as part of an ongoing robbery investigation.

Members of the Huntington Violent Crime Unit, Special Investigations Bureau and SWAT Team executed a search warrant for stolen firearms in the first block of Division Street at about 8 a.m. Thursday. During the warrant search, investigators found marijuana, scales, packaging equipment, more than $1,000 in cash and two AK-47 style firearms.

All of those arrested are believed to have ties to Michigan, but have Huntington addresses, Dial said.

More arrests are expected.
