Update on Komets’ Sol
The news on Komets defenseman Cody Sol is better than initially expected. According to general manager David Franke, Sol has a strain of the medial collateral ligament in his knee and is “responding well to treatment.” He’s unlikely to play this week but could return around Dec. 14. Sol suffered the injury Friday on a check from Toledo’s Ben Storm at Memorial Coliseum.
In other news, Phelix Martineau has been reassigned to the Komets by Laval of the American Hockey League. He played three games there and was scoreless. He has five goals and 10 points in 10 games with the Komets this season.
