Big & Rich to Perform at Rose Bowl

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) _ Rose Bowl fans, ``Big″ Kenny Alphin says Big & Rich are comin’ to your city.

The country duo will perform at the Bowl Championship Series’ title game on Jan. 4 in Pasadena, Calif., Alphin told The Associated Press on Thursday. It was unclear whether they would perform before the national championship game or at halftime.

However, Maura Mooney, a spokeswoman for Warner Bros. Records Nashville, Big & Rich’s record label, said Friday that plans were still being finalized.

Alphin and partner John Rich are big college football fans. They recorded a special version of their song ``Comin’ to Your City″ for ESPN’s ``College Gameday.″

Big & Rich are known for their ``hick-hop″ style that blends rock, rap and country music. They sold more than 2 million copies of their major label debut, ``Horse of a Different Color.″

The duo played at a show in Jackson to benefit Country Music Television’s ``One Country″ campaign for hurricane relief. Proceeds went to six organizations that are aiding victims of Hurricane Katrina, including the American Red Cross.
