Crime blotter for Dec. 31
According to reports provided by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office:
Officers responded Saturday to a suspicious fire on the side of the road at Old Dibble Road and Vale Drive. The Montmorenci Fire Department responded and put out the fire. After the fire was out, a bottle and horseshoes were discovered in the ashes.
An Aiken man, 53, who resides on Columbia Highway N. reported Friday an incident of fraud involving his vehicle.
A Warrenville woman, 25, who resides on Buckskin Court, reported Friday an unknown subject scratched the side of her vehicle and flattened the tires on another victim’s vehicle.
A North Augusta woman, 32, who resides on Tulip Drive, reported that someone had cashed a check sent to her from SCE&G on Dec. 10. The victim stated she neither received the check nor cashed it. The victim stated she received a copy of the cashed check from SCE&G but did not recognize the signature.
An Aiken man, 50, who resides on New Holland Road, reported Friday an unknown subject had spray painted the outside of his camper pink. No words or distinguishing marks were drawn on the camper.
Employees of the Dollar General on Edgefield Highway reported Friday two subjects had taken items from the automotive section.
A Windsor woman who resides on Wendy Lane reported Friday that she had received harassing phone calls.
A Warrenville man who resides on Cato Road was placed on trespass Friday after knocking on the door of a residence on Hillman Street in Warrenville and asking for a cigarette.
A Warrenville woman who resides on Bekham Road reported a domestic incident Friday.
An Aiken man who resides on Chesterfield Street N.W. reported Friday that while stopped on Jefferson Davis Highway at Belvedere-Clearwater Road he looked over at the vehicle beside him. The victim stated a black male in the vehicle asked what he was looking at and pulled what appeared to be a firearm from under his jacket. The victim stated that while traveling down the road the other vehicle would swerve to try to hit him and slammed on the brakes in front of him. The victim stated he got ahead of the other vehicle, which later turned on to I-520.
An Aiken man who resides on May Royal Drive reported Friday an unknown subject stole his utility vehicle from his yard.
A North Augusta man who resides on Sanders Drive reported Friday a disturbance involving a stabbing. The victim’s injuries were non-life threatening.
A Warrenville woman, 29, who resides on Jackson Street, reported an unknown subject came into her residence Thursday and took a firearm. The victim stated there were no signs of forced entry.
A Warrenville man who resides on Augusta Road was arrested Saturday for shoplifting at the Family Dollar Store on Jefferson Davis Highway in Beech Island. While searching the subject, officers found the stolen items and also a small bag of a green, leafy substance, believed to be marijuana, and two small bags of white, crystal-like substance, believed to be meth.
Officers responded Friday to a structure fire on Destiny Lane in Aiken. Officers found what appeared to be pry marks on the door and frame. The fire department officer stated that an unknown accelerant was used to start the fire in the living room.
A Warrenville man, 56, who resides on Breeze Hill Road, reported that between Jan. 1, 2018, and Dec. 29, 2018, an unknown subject took the license plate off his motorcycle. The victim stated he just noticed the license plate missing.
An incident of credit card fraud was reported Saturday at the Waffle House on Frontage Road in Aiken.
A Beech Island man who resides on Riverbend Drive reported Friday the mobile phone and wallet of the victim whose banking accounts he is in charge of were stolen. The man stated the victims’ bank card was used at several stores and ATMs.
A Warrenville woman who resides on Church Street reported Friday an unknown subject stole her lawnmower from her yard.
An Aiken man who resides on Taylor Drive reported Friday that all four tires on his vehicle were flat. The victim reported he found a hole in the outer wall of each tire.
An Aiken woman who resides on Ginger Lane was arrested Saturday for theft of electric current.
A North Augusta woman who resides on Mealing Avenue reported Sunday an incident of domestic violence and kidnapping.
