Earthquakes Edge Crew 4-3

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) _ Columbus Crew defender Brian Dunseth’s own goal gave the San Jose Earthquakes a 4-3 overtime victory Saturday night.

San Jose (14-9-3) remained tied for the Western Conference lead with Los Angeles, a 2-1 winner over Chicago on Saturday night. Columbus (10-11-5) is tied for first place in the Eastern Conference with New York-New Jersey.

San Jose took a 3-1 lead in the 53rd minute, but Columbus’ Edson Buddle tied it with goals in the 59th and 82nd minutes to force overtime.

San Jose led 2-1 at the half, with Eddie Robinson and Ronnie Ekelund scoring for the Earthquakes and Jeff Cunningham countering for the Crew.
