Free health screenings, cancer presentation at UPMC St. Margaret
Residents can attend a free presentation at UPMC St. Margaret that explores the advances made in cancer care.
It will be 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 12 at the hospital’s conference centers, 815 Freeport Road, near Aspinwall.
According to the American Cancer Society, 1.7 million people across the country will be diagnosed with cancer this year.
Guest speaker Peter Ellis, medical oncologist, will focus on advances in chemotherapy, targeted therapy and immunotherapy. Participants will learn about treatment options and how they target specific cancer types.
Free health screenings will be offered, including blood pressure and bone density tests.
A free hot dinner will be served.
