Cans Film Festival returns Saturday
The Cans Film Festival is back and will be held Saturday at the Marcus Galaxy 14 Cinema, 4340 Maine Ave. SE, Rochester.
Everyone who comes to the theater with a donation of five cans of food for the Salvation Army will receive a free pass to see a classic Christmas film of their choice. All food donations go the Salvation Army in partnership with Channel One Food Bank. Holiday films showing this weekend include “Elf,” “Home Alone,” “It’s a Wonderful Life” and “Elliot the Littlest Reindeer.”
The Cans Film Festival was hosted annually by Wehrenberg Theaters, but was temporarily discontinued when Marcus bought Wehrenberg in 2016.
Hours for the event are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Salvation Army volunteers will collect cans and hand out movie vouchers at the entryway.
