Branford FD, EnCon police rescue osprey
BRANFORD — Connecticut State Environmental Conservation Police worked alongside Branford Fire Department personnel to rescue an osprey Tuesday morning.
EnCon police responded to Dutch Wharf Marina in Branford after being asked to help get an osprey out of the rigging of a land-stored sailboat. The fire department and a wildlife rehabilitator were able to get the osprey unstuck.
The osprey was taken to a rehabilitation facility, A Place Called Hope. At the facility, the bird was assessed and they found that it had injured its right leg.
EnCon police said the osprey is likely to make a full recovery.
