Police: Man drove 106 mph in 55-mph zone
RANDOLPH, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire State Police have charged a man with driving 106 miles an hour in a 55-mile-an-hour zone in Randolph.
Twenty-three-year-old Scott Steiger Jr., of Laconia, was stopped and arrested on Sunday afternoon on Route 2. The trooper had gotten out of the way to avoid being hit as he saw Steiger’s car accelerating to pass another vehicle.
Steiger was charged with reckless driving, overtaking a vehicle on the left, and a solid yellow line violation. He is scheduled for arraignment on May 22. It wasn’t immediately known if he had a lawyer, and a phone number couldn’t be found for him.
