Texas Bank Robbery Leaves One Dead
LONGVIEW, Texas (AP) _ A woman was fatally shot Thursday and another woman was wounded during an attempted bank robbery, authorities said.
The women were attacked after bandits entered First Federal Savings Bank shortly after noon, according to the FBI.
Betty Paddie, 61, was taken to Good Shepherd Medical Center where she later died of a gunshot wound, said John Gilchrist, a hospital spokesman.
Elizabeth Flahie, 50, was in fair condition with a gunshot wound.
Police in nearby Marshall captured one of the two suspects after pursuing him in vehicles and on foot.
It was not immediately known whether the victims in the northeast Texas shooting were customers or employees.
It was also uncertain whether money was taken.
