Will Senators Stand Up For The U.S. Constitution?
Editor: Unbelievable. What else can we possibly say about those Republican senators who voted to stop Trump’s declaration of a national emergency? Unfortunately, they seem to believe that loyalty to Trump is more important than loyalty to the separation of powers as outlined in the U.S. Constitution. What traitors. It is obvious how you measure the worth of a man — something about the size of his hands. And clearly, American heroes like Sen. McCain really are not worthy of our respect and admiration. After all, he was captured. Everyone knows American POWs do not deserve our nation’s gratitude and admiration. Clearly, they didn’t have the money, or the know-how, or what some might consider the cowardice to develop bone spurs. So, when it comes to overturning the veto, how shall we measure the worth of the Republican senators? Will they suddenly find the backbone to stand up for the U.S. Constitution? Or will they give up the power of the U.S. Congress to an imperialist president? How will they measure their worth as U.S. senators? How will we? Andrea Glod WILKES-BARRE
