Online ticket sales are now open for the Lowell General Hospital Theme Basket raffle, which features elaborate baskets, most valued at more than $1,000.

This year, hospital staff donated thousands of dollars worth of gifts and money to raffle off to benefit the Sun Santa Fund.

Each ticket costs 25 cents, which is matched by hospital administration. Last year, the raffle brought in $150,375 in donations.

Circle Health Administration pitched in $2,000 to create “Smart Home for the Holidays” packed with items like the Nest Learning Thermostat, the Roomba 890 and doorbell cameras.

“Santa’s Ultimate Sleigh” is a two-person kayak, including accessories like a boat tote, and altogether valued at $1,250. The contents were donated by the Main and Saints Campus Emergency Departments.

Other baskets include items like a Chromebook, drills or cash. One basket -- “Santa’s Stash of Christmas Cash” -- is $3,500 stuffed into a toy train.

Tickets can be purchased at www.lowellgeneral.org/sunsanta . Online sales run until 3 p.m. Dec. 11. Live basket viewing and ticket sales start Dec. 5 at the Lowell General Hospital Main Campus on 295 Varnum Ave.

The public can attend the drawing on Dec. 12 at 3:30 p.m. in Clark Auditorium.

The fund helps families in Lowell and surrounding communities who need assistance during the holiday season.
