World Cup warmup: West Indies win toss, bat vs England

SYDNEY (AP) — West Indies skipper Jason Holder won the toss and elected to bat first Monday in the World Cup warmup one-day match against England at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

England opens its World Cup campaign against host Australia in Melbourne on Saturday, while the West Indies travel to New Zealand for an opening match against Ireland on Monday.


West Indies: Chris Gayle, Dwayne Smith, Darren Bravo, Marlon Samuels, Denesh Ramdin, Jonathan Carter, Darren Sammy, Andre Russell, Jason Holder (captain), Jerome Taylor, Kemar Roach; Sulieman Benn, Sheldon Cottrell, Lendl Simmons, Nikita Miller.
