Rain delays play in 5th Ashes test
LONDON (AP) — Rain has delayed the start of play on Day 2 of the fifth Ashes test between England and Australia at The Oval.
An early lunch was taken Thursday after light rain in south London turned into a torrential downpour, wiping out the morning session.
Forecasts suggest the weather will improve in the afternoon and if play is possible, Australia will resume on its overnight score of 307-4.
Steve Smith (66) and nightwatchman Peter Siddle (18) are the not-out batsmen.
England has already won the Ashes as it holds a 3-0 lead in the five-match series.
