LCTA Offers Free Rides For Veterans On Monday

November 7, 2018

Veterans and active duty military personnel will receive free rides on Luzerne County Transportation Authority buses on Monday, for Veterans Day. Veterans will also get a free gift, according to a news release from LCTA. Veterans who board any fixed-route LCTA bus Monday should show their military ID card, Veterans Administration medical card or certificate of discharge to the bus driver. The driver will give the veteran a commemorative pin that will serve as a de facto bus ticket throughout the day, according to LCTA. The transportation authority will also host a table at the intermodal center in Wilkes-Barre from 9 a.m. till 11:30 a.m. Monday. While supplies last, all veterans who stop by the table will receive a small lunch tote, containing a veteran’s pin, a drink and a snack. Also, LCTA human resources director Janine Hennigan will be available to provide employment outreach assistance to veterans interested in pursuing a career with LCTA. —ERIC MARK
