Beatrice man arrested for drug-laced candies
A Beatrice man was arrested after a probation search revealed drug-laced candies in his residence.
Austin Meyn, 21, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and possession of a controlled substance, both class 3A felonies.
The Beatrice Police Department assisted the Nebraska State Probation Office withathe search of a residence at 521 Mary St. on Wednesday.
During the search, a press release from the police department stated authorities found five bottles of Clonazolam, a schedule IV controlled substance.
Meyn was allegedly soaking gummy candies in the substance and distributing them to people.
Three containers of soaked gummy candies were also found in the residence. Multiple other pills were found in addition to shipping labels controlled substances came in.
Meyn was on probation that began Aug. 1 for similar offenses.
