Transit agency probe finds compensation, diversity issues

October 8, 2018

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) — A Delaware Transit Corporation report on workplace culture says the agency has compensation issues and unclear diversity priorities.

The News Journal of Wilmington reported Monday that the July internal report is based on employee interviews conducted this year by Ivy Planning Group.

The firm was hired by the governor in 2015 to investigate anti-discrimination and diversity policies at state agencies. DART CEO John Sisson then asked the firm in 2017 to look into the transit agency.

The report says some employees report issues such as gender pay discrimination, racism and bullying between new hires and tenured staff. However, one quoted employee says there’s been noticeable progress toward workplace integration. DART CEO John Sisson says the issues outlined in the report are legitimate but don’t reflect the majority of workers.
