Sacred Heart cross country strong at Wilton Invitational
Sacred Heart Greenwich’s cross country team made a strong showing at the 2018 Wilton Invitational on Saturday, placing fourth out of 10 teas in the meet’s small school division.
The Tigers finished behind Guilford, New Fairfield and Hopkins in the team standings and placed ahead of Weston, Byram Hills, Wolcott, Joel Barlow, Seymour and Capital Prep.
Sophomore Grace Lillis was Sacred Heart’s top runner at the meet, posting a time of 15:49.5. Lillis placed eighth overall out of 166 competitors in the race. Ursula Vollmer, a sophomore, clocked in at 18:17.5 for the Tigers, while teammate Gabby Davitch, a senior registered a time of 18:41.4.
Cecilia Duncan, a sophomore, finished the 4,000-meter race in 18:45.4, while Mary Anne Gallagher registered a time of 19:27.2 for Sacred Heart. Ella Holl (senior) crossed the finish line in 19:30.5, while Anissa Arakel (senior) posted a time of 19:31.5.
