AUBURN, Ala. (AP) _ Ray Donald scored 16 points Tuesday as Auburn outmuscled Wofford for a 76-53 win.

Auburn (10-1) utilized an early full-court press to take a 15-9 lead with 15:11 left in the first half, then used its superior size to knock the Terriers (0-7) off the glass.

The Tigers outrebounded Wofford 46-22.

The Tigers built a halftime lead of 42-24 behind 55 percent shooting from the floor and Wofford could not bounce back from its dismal 33 percent shooting and a 1-of-8 performance from three-point range in the first half.

Wofford did close to 13 points in the second half on a 12-foot jump shot by Terrence Gilyard with 12:30 left making it 49-36.

But the Tigers responded with a 7-0 run capped by Wes Flanigan’s dunk at 10:24. The run restored the Tigers’ 20-point lead, 56-36. Auburn went on to extend the lead to 25, 65-40, on Briant Smith’s layup before Wofford battled back to a 17-point deficit at the buzzer.

Franklin Williams contributed 14 points and 10 rebounds for Auburn.

Gilyard was the only Wofford scorer in double figures, with 19 points.
