Three Men Indicted in Brooklyn Massacre

NEW YORK (AP) _ Three men have been indicted on charges of killing three people and injuring seven others, including three children, during a rampage of robbery and murder through two Brooklyn apartments.

Gary Miley, 22, Terell Eleby, 25, and his brother, Vincent, 23, all of Brooklyn, were charged with murder, attempted murder, assault, robbery criminal possession of a weapon Friday, said Ned Steele, a district attorney’s spokesman. All were ordered held without bail.

Detectives were still searching for a fourth man in the 21/2 -hour stabbing and shooting spree.

The incident began Feb. 28 when four men stormed into an apartment demanding money, according to police. The intruders took $4,000 from the tenant, Mark Johnson, 24, and began torturing others in his apartment and the upstairs apartment in an attempt to get more cash.

Police said drugs were found in Johnson’s apartment.

The attackers killed three men, raped a woman, tried to choke two children and attempted to drown another in a toilet before one man, who was grazed by a bullet and feigned death, escaped out a window and frightened them away, police said.
