DULUTH, Minn. (AP) _ Ila Borders, the first woman to pitch in a minor league game, allowed one hit as she pitched her first game for the Duluth-Superior Dukes on Friday, a game that Madison won 6-3.

Borders came on in the top of the ninth with the Black Wolf leading 6-3.

She allowed a leadoff single to Kevin Walton, then got Lino Connell to ground into a double play and Nate Vopata to ground out.

Borders lowered her ERA to 6.43. It had been 7.50 after seven appearances with the St. Paul Saints, who signed her this spring. She was traded to Duluth on June 25.
