Poll shows Brazil president approval rating at rock bottom
SAO PAULO (AP) — A new poll published Thursday shows Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff’s approval rating at a new low and a growing number of people favoring her impeachment.
The survey by the Datafolha polling institute says 71 percent of those questioned described Rousseff’s administration as “bad” or “terrible,” up from 65 percent in a June poll. The percentage who said her administration is “great” or “good” stands at 8 percent, down from 10 percent.
Sixty-six percent of respondents said Rousseff should be impeached, up from 63 percent in an April poll.
Datafolha interviewed 3,358 people between Aug. 4 and 5. The poll has a margin of error of 2 percentage points.
Rousseff won re-election in October but her administration has been clouded by a kickback scandal involving Petrobras, the state oil company.
