OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) _ Golden State’s Purvis Short led all scorers with 40 points as the Warriors coasted to a 145-122 victory Tuesday night over the San Antonio Spurs in a National Basketball Association game.

Short, third in the NBA in scoring, paced the Warriors offense in the first half, tallying 26 points.

Golden State had an 86-point first half, capitalizing on 13 San Antonio turnovers that the Warriors converted into 23 points.

The 145 points was the highest point total of the season for the Warriors.

Eight Warriors scored in double figures, including Eric Floyd with 18, Larry Smith with 16, and Jerome Whitehead with 15.

The loss was the Spurs’ first to the Warriors in four starts. Leading the San Antonio scoring was center Artis Gilmore with 23 points.
