1 week left for Habitat applications
North Platte residents have a week left to apply in Habitat for Humanity’s open application period.
The application period ends Nov. 15.
The nonprofit Christian housing program is for residents who need better housing, can make housing payments between $400 and $500 a month but cannot qualify for a mortgage, and who are willing to put in 400 hours of “sweat equity” to build a home.
Applicants must either be living in, or working in North Platte for one year.
Those who are interested in applying or have questions are asked to call 308-534-6251 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Applications must be postmarked by Nov. 15.

Extended hours for hunters to buy
Most Nebraska Game and Parks Commission offices will be open for additional hours this weekend to accommodate deer permit purchasers on the opening weekend of the firearm season. The nine-day season opens Saturday.
The Alliance office and Ak-Sar-Ben Aquarium will be open for permit sales on Monday. All other offices will be closed in observance of Veterans Day.
