Hershey Recalls Ice Cream Over Egg Concern

HERSHEY, Pa. (AP) _ Hershey is voluntarily recalling its chocolate chip cookie dough-flavored ice cream because the label doesn’t properly warn people who are allergic to eggs.

People with egg allergies ``run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions″ if they eat the ice cream, which contains liquid pasteurized eggs, an ingredient not listed on the label, Hershey Creamery Co. said Friday.

The recall involves:

_Hershey Ice Cream Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough half-gallons with code dates 5A17, 5N08, 5K07, 6D11, 6D24, 6E23, 6P17 and 6P27 on end flaps.

_Hershey Ice Cream Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough square pints with code dates 5A16, 6D12, 6E01, 6P01, 6O17 and 6S10 on top flaps.

_All Hershey Ice Cream Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough super premium pints.

_Any Hershey Ice Cream three-gallon bulk container that does not have an ingredient label on the outside of the container.

The ice cream was distributed in Connecticut, Delaware, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Virginia, Vermont, Washington, D.C., and West Virginia.
