HHS races to win over Capital 64-44

CHARLESTON - Huntington High (8-7) raced to a 24-6 lead and never was seriously challenged in a 64-44 victory over Capital Thursday night.

Ten players scored for the Highlanders. Alezha Turner and Emily Foley led the way with 10 points apiece. Madison Slash and Ravyn Goodson each grabbed a game-high seven rebounds.

Danijah Allen paced the Cougars with 12 points.

HHS returns to action at 3 p.m. Saturday at home vs. University.

Isaac Massie hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to set the score. Massie led the Patriots with 35 points. Robert Clutter scored 10.

Brandon Cook scored 15 for the Lions. Andrew Breedin chipped in 14.

ST. ALBANS 64, SPRING VALLEY 60: The Red Dragons outscored the Timberwolves 9-5 in overtime to win a home game. Haley McComas led Spring Valley with 20 points and Sydney Meredith added 18. Megan Thornburg paced St. Albans, which trailed 35-25 at halftime, with 17 points. Tiara Jackson added 16 points.
