Meyersdale magistrate: Feb. 1
The following preliminary hearing is scheduled before District Judge Douglas McCall Bell in Meyersdale:
Courtney Horning, 23, Copper Kettle Highway, Rockwood, was charged Jan. 14 with third-degree felony reckless burning, felony burglary, theft by unlawful taking and criminal mischief. According to a probable-cause affidavit, on either Dec. 6 or 7 Horning and another person broke into a Jackson Drive, Greenville Township, residence and stole multiple items, including a rifle, shotgun, crossbow, compound bow and stereo. The garage was also broken into and a chain saw, 10 chains and a 2008 John Deere Gator were taken. The Gator was later wrecked on Mountain Road, according to the affidavit. Horning told police she provided her co-defendant with a lighter to burn the Gator. Horning was arraigned Wednesday before Bell and was sent to the Somerset County Jail in lieu of a $60,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 11 a.m. Feb. 14.
