Florence County Sheriff’s Office to focus on its smart phone app

January 16, 2019

FLORENCE, S.C. -- The Florence County Sheriff’s Office will no longer communicate through Facebook but will instead rely on its app.

“Once downloaded, the app will immediately allow for a connection to E-911 with the push of a button if needed,” according to a release from the agency. “The app contains a link for Detention Center inmate information, Sex Offender Registry, Amber Alerts, a Narcotics Hotline, outstanding arrest warrants, Pee Dee’s Most Wanted and other timely resources.”

“The app contains a “Submit-A-Tip” feature where citizens can leave anonymous tips or other information regarding a crime. It will also be used to instantly notify the public of critical incidents in the county as well as all (Florence County Sheriff’s Office) press releases,” according to the release.

The app is available for both iPhone and Android.
