No foul play suspected in Harwich infant’s death
HARWICH, Mass. (AP) — Authorities say there is no evidence of foul play in the unexpected death of an infant in Harwich last weekend.
Cape and Islands District Attorney Michael O’Keefe says the state medical examiner determined there were no signs of physical trauma in the boy who died Sunday after he stopped breathing.
O’Keefe tells the Cape Cod Times (http://bit.ly/K9w6Gr ) that the cause of death is pending a microscopic examination of body organs.
Harwich police received several 911 calls around 11:30 a.m. Sunday about an infant not breathing.
The first police officer to arrive found the infant and his mother outside. The officer administered CPR on the scene.
Fire officials took the infant to Cape Cod Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
