King’s Alonna Christy scores 1,000th career point

STAMFORD—Senior guard Alonna Christy became the latest member of the King School basketball’s 1,000 career point club Friday as she scored 31 points to lift King to a 52-51 triumph over Harvey School before a partisan home crowd.

Christy finished the game with 31 points including 10 of 12 free throws. Her two free throws in the closing seconds provided the final margin of victory.

Christy now has 1,026 career points in her King career.

King (1-1 overall) rallied from a 28-23 halftime deficit. Zoe Tinnesz had 13 points including a trio of 3-pointers for the Vikings.

Kira Ortega paced Harvey with 29 points while Ally Walsh added a trio of 3-pointers for nine points.
