IGLS, Austria (AP) _ The Swiss team of Martin Annen and Beat Hefti won a two-man World Cup bobsled race Saturday in which the United States finished fifth.

Annen and Hefti had the fastest time in both runs, finishing in 1 minute, 44.16 seconds to beat Canada’s Pierre Lueders and Lascelles Brown by 0.31 seconds.

``We had two nearly faultless runs, but our great starting times really made the difference,″ Annen said.

Russians Alexander Subkov and Dimitry Stepuchkin were third in 1:44.80. The U.S. team of Todd Hays and Pavle Jovanovic was fifth in 1:44.90.

Annen, who finished fourth and second in the other two-man races this season, moved into a tie for first in the standings with Andre Lange. The German won last week’s European title and finished fourth Saturday in 1:44.84. Both have 260 points after three of seven races and lead Lueders by 20 points.
