Freight train hits refrigerated Publix truck

August 24, 2018

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Officials say a freight train crashed into a refrigerated grocery truck, leaving a Florida road covered with milk and other dairy products.

The Sun Sentinel reports that that crash occurred Friday morning at a Deerfield Beach crossing.

Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue says the Publix truck had been traveling on a street parallel to the track and then made a right turn to cross the tracks. The semitrailer didn’t clear the tracks fast enough, and the train clipped the back of the trailer.

No injuries were reported.
