Bakery to address future on Monday
Aunt Millie’s officials are planning an announcement next week about the shuttered bakery on Pearl Street.
The company closed the operation in April, and spokeswoman Melissa Koeneman said, “There will be an announcement about the bakery on Monday” but declined to offer specifics Friday.
Plans were announced in November to close the bakery, eliminating 91 jobs.
Chris Popp, executive vice president of manufacturing, told The Journal Gazette then that the production line occupied about 100,000 square feet and estimated corporate offices at the site take up another 30,000 square feet.
The administrative offices employ about 120 and remain at 350 Pearl St. Officials said in November no plans were in place to lease or fill the production space.
City spokesman John Perlich said in an email he had no information about the announcement.
