Leominster Students at WPI Complete Required Hands-on Research Projects
WORCESTER -- Two Leominster residents were among students from Worcester Polytechnic Institute who recently completed intense, hands-on research projects.
Steffany Halfrey, a senior majoring in aerospace engineering, was a member of a team that completed a project through the WPI project center in Namibia titled “Facilitating the Growth and Development of the Namibia Project Center.”
Olivia Jones, a senior majoring in mechanical engineering, was a member of a team that completed a project through the WPI project center in Paraguay titled “Elevated Stoves in Cerrito, Paraguay.”
At WPI, all undergraduates are required to complete a research-driven, professional-level project that applies science and technology to addresses an important societal need or issue.
