Police hunt alligator on loose in South Jersey

This 2-foot long alligator was found roaming in Collegeville in 2016. An alligator about twice this size was spotted in Mullica Township on Tuesday, according to police.

Police are looking for a 3- to 4-foot-long alligator on the loose in Atlantic County.

Without elaborating, Mullica Township police said there was a confirmed sighting of an alligator on Hamburg Avenue between the White Horse Pike and Duerer Street, an area bisected by two branches of Landing Creek in the Devonshire section, at about 4:45 p.m. Tuesday.
