BROOKLYN, Mich. (AP) _ Chad Blount turned in a lap of 184.016 mph Friday to capture the pole position for the ARCA Flagstar 200 at Michigan International Speedway.

It is the second career pole for Blount, who also started on the front row in March at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

``Wow, that's a pretty good car we've got right now,'' said Blount. ``This really means a lot right to our team. We're running this car without a sponsor which is really tough to do and win in this series. Maybe this will help us pick something up.''

Joining Blount on the front row for Saturday's race will be current ARCA series points-leader Frank Kimmel, who clocked a lap of 183.346. Kimmel leads all drivers with four victories this season and 2,010 points.

Rick Carelli qualified third and followed by Michael Vergers, Tim Steele and Billy Venturini. Vern Slagh, Richard Mitchell, A.J. Henriksen and Rick Thoennes rounded out the Top 10.

The field will also include 16-year-old Shelby Howard of Greenwood, Ind., and 18-year-old Chase Montgomery of Mount Juliet, Tenn., who qualified 22nd and 20th.
