Chelmsford Man Arrested and Charged with Allegedly Exposing Himself Inside Walmart

February 3, 2019

CHELMSFORD -- A 29-year-old Chelmsford man who was identified with help from the public has been charged with open and gross lewdness and lascivious behavior for allegedly exposing himself inside Walmart on Parkhurst Road.

On Saturday, Chelmsford police released a surveillance photo of their suspect in the incident, and asked the public for help identifying him.

Police said a woman told store employees a man exposed himself to her inan aisle at the store Friday about 8:30 p.m. Store employees then called police.

The man’s photograph circulated in media reports and on social media Saturday, and about 9:30 p.m., police issued a subsequent press release that said Jonathan Wentzell was charged in connection with the incident.

Police said Wentzell was located at Starbucks, 101 Drum Hill Road, about 6 p.m.

Police said he was being held without bail on Saturday night.

“Thank you to all members of the public who submitted tips to help us identify the suspect,” Police Chief James Spinney said in a press release.
