Germany’s Lahm Injures Elbow in Practice
FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) _ German national team defender Philipp Lahm injured his elbow during a friendly match Tuesday and was taken to a hospital for tests.
Lahm landed awkwardly while playing a practice match against FSV Luckenwalde in Mannheim. The team later traveled without him to Italy, where it was to begin training camp.
The 22-year defender from German champion Bayern Munich was undergoing tests to determine whether anything was broken. He was expected to rejoin the team in Italy on Wednesday, team spokesman Harald Stenger said.
