Plimoth Plantation holds weekend celebration

September 27, 2014

PLYMOUTH, Mass. (AP) — It’s a big weekend at Plimoth Plantation as the living-history museum opens its renovated crafts center and its brand-new bread-making facility.

The two-day celebration features more than 60 Colonial and Native American crafters and artisans, live musical acts and several authors and lecturers.

Weaving, furniture inlaying, rug hooking, beer brewing, and scrimshaw are just some of the special exhibits guests can visit at the crafts center.

The Plimoth Bread Company will make bread in a wood-fired clay over much as it was made in the 17th century.

The festival is free for Plymouth Residents and Massachusetts residents receive half-priced Heritage Pass tickets.
