September 20, 2018

HUDSON, N.H. -- Two people were hospitalized after a two-car crash on Lowell Road that was caused by a drunk driver, authorities say.

Daniel Blair, 27, of Nashua, was charged with driving while intoxicated following the crash at around 5:20 p.m. Wednesday near Flagstone Drive, according to a Hudson Police Department press release.

Police said Blair was driving his 2018 Toyota Camry at a high rate of speed north on Lowell Road when he slammed into the rear of a 2018 Subaru Impreza. The Subaru was driven by 57-year-old Patricia Chiquelin, of Hudson.

After impact, the Subaru crossed the median into the southbound travel lane of Lowell Road where it came to a rest, police said. The Toyota came to a rest in the northbound travel lane.

Chiquelin was transported to St. Joseph Hospital for evaluation for what police identified as a minor injury. Chiquelin’s 27-year-old passenger was also transported to St. Joseph with a minor injury.

Blair, who police said was uninjured, was found to be driving drunk, the release states. He was transported to the Hudson Police Department for booking.

The Nashua man was released on bail and is slated to appear in the Ninth Circuit Court in Nashua on Oct. 4.

Both vehicles suffered heavy damage and were towed from the scene, police said. The southbound travel lanes of Lowell Road were closed while the scene was investigated.

The accident remains under investigation.
