MINNETONKA — The A’s suffered a 7-5 loss in the first round of the Gopher Classic on Friday, losing to Yankton (S.D.).

The A’s were done in by faltering defense and walks. That came after taking a 5-0 lead into the sixth inning. Yankton scored four runs in the sixth and three in the seventh.

The A’s outhit Yankton 8-6. That included two hits each by Dalton Schuder and Travis Rittenhouse.
