Wind advisory issued for Cameron County
The National Weather Service in Brownsville has issued a wind advisory for inland parts of Cameron County effective immediately.
The NWS reports strong northerly winds brought on by a strong cold front will increase later this afternoon and continue through the overnight hours until Tuesday. The winds will be blowing at about 30 to 35 mph with gusts of up to 40 mph.
The NWS reports the winds will be the strongest over coastal sections of Deep South Texas. Temperatures behind the frontal boundary will drop steadily.
The wind advisory will be in effect until 6 p.m. Tuesday.
