Crenshaw, Ray and Tyler headline All-Area volleyball team

December 27, 2018

South Aiken’s Emily Crenshaw, Aiken’s Payton Tyler and Fox Creek’s Camryn Ray are three of the student athletes who headline the All-Aiken Standard Volleyball Team.

The trio are also the finalist for the Aiken Standard Volleyball Player of the Year.

The winner of the award will be named at the Aiken Standard’s Best of Prep Sports award banquet, which will be held on May 23 at the USC Aiken Convocation Center.

Crenshaw hit 37 percent and finished the season with 338 kills, 57 blocks and 35 aces. She helped lead the Thoroughbreds to a first-place tie in the region. She was named All-State.

Tyler had 238 kills, 41 aces and 174 digs. She was one of the senior leaders of the Aiken team, which finished in a tie for first place in the region and was also named All-State.

Ray led the Predators in several statistic categories during Fox Creek’s memorable year. The Predators finished unbeaten in region play, and Ray was a big part of the reason why. She had 214 kills, 46 aces, 119 digs. She also had 13 blocks.

The three are joined on the first team by Man’Daja Cunningham (Wagener-Salley), Akyra Davis (Ridge Spring-Monetta) and Rachel Weatherford (Williston-Elko).
