GASTONIA, N.C. (AP) — Police believe two shootings in a North Carolina city are related.

Local news outlets report Gastonia police responded to two shooting within an hour early Sunday morning.

The first shooting happened just after midnight in the parking lot of Broncos nightclub, with multiple shots fired. Police say one person sustained a superficial wound, and the victim and witnesses were not cooperating. It's unclear if more people were injured.

The second shooting happened at 12:50 a.m. about 5 miles (8 kilometers) away, in the parking lot of a McDonald's. Police say a 20-year-old man was shot. His condition is unknown.

Police have not released why they believe the shootings are related.
