Searchers Recover Body From Lake in Utah
PROVO, Utah (AP) _ Searchers on Monday recovered the body of one of three men who had been aboard a plane that crashed in Utah Lake during a storm last week.
The body was found about a mile west of the harbor where search teams have been working since Friday. The single-engine turboprop crashed late Thursday on its final approach for landing at the Provo Municipal Airport, just east of the lake.
Utah County sheriff’s Lt. Darren Gilbert said a searcher spotted what appeared to be an oil slick on the lake’s surface Monday. The body was found in about 11 feet of water. The victim’s identity was not immediately released.
Missing in the crash were pilot Blaine Pugmire, 31, of Springville, and passengers Harold ``Les″ McGuire, 35, of Highland and Ray Hooper, 35, of Mapleton.
